“Trump is gearing up to make a claim that there was an international criminal conspiracy attempting to subvert the 2020 election.
He already knows how well his outrageous lies regarding a stolen election played with the MAGA faithful in the lead up to J6. Now he will use Tulsi Gabbard/FBI to attempt to cook up a narrative that either manipulates results or cancels the midterms.
ICE has an outsized role in all of this and they will be out in force to threaten and intimidate voters. They have recently been given guidance which allows them to arrest and detain anyone they deem a suspect without a judicial warrant.
Trump essentially has a masked police force able to do his bidding and punish anyone they see as undesirable to his cause. This is a dream scenario for a rising authoritarian such as we have.
Trump will also use local MAGA supporters to apply a sort of totalitarian peer pressure on communities. This is why they are collecting information on resisters and building a database of American citizens that they can falsely claim are insurrectionists.
The administration will continue to try and suppress free speech and assembly through intimidation and state sponsored violence.”
Michael Bond: They know they are in trouble if the elections are free and fair. They won’t be.
Notice ICE is not holding their weapons like police, but sideways like thugs.
